This research aims at explaining the connotation meanings in the Island drama. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method and content analysis as the research method. The sources of data are 7 selected pictures taken from Island Korean drama. The data is taken from Telegram and Web, then screenshotting scene of the symbol represented in Island Korean drama, and understanding the dialogues of Island Korean drama, after that describing symbol and connotative meaning of each scene of Island Korean drama using Roland Barthes’ theory semiotics and the last is drawing the conclusion. In this research, all of scenes in Island Korean drama have symbol and connotative meaning. A particular emphasis is placed on the "Male Rhinoplasty" page as a case study, where icons, indexes, and symbols embedded in both images and texts are scrutinized across different sections of the website. Employing a qualitative approach, the study involves meticulous analysis of ten images extracted from the "Male Plastic Surgery" page. Among these, the study identifies 13 icons, 12 indexes, and 18 symbols, all of which serve as visual cues to not only enrich user experience but also evoke emotional responses that engage potential patients. The implications of these findings underscore the comprehensive communication strategy employed by ID Hospital's website. By adeptly incorporating Peirce's semiotic principles, the website constructs a multifaceted narrative concerning male rhinoplasty that is both visually captivating and emotionally resonant. This study explains the types of signs that appear in the Gojek advertising video entitled jangan sepelekan kekuatan dari sebuah jempol. The researcher uses a qualitative approach as a research method. The data source is one Gojek advertising video entitled jangan sepelekan kekuatan dari sebuah jempol from the official Gojek Youtube account. Data collection by: (1) searching for video advertising on the official Gojek YouTube account, (2) downloading advertising videos, (3) watching videos, (4) selecting and screenshotting scenes that are directly related to jempol, (5) coding the selected scenes. Meanwhile, the data analysis procedures are: (1) selecting scenes in the Gojek advertising video entitled jangan sepelekan kekuatan dari sebuah jempol that has been coded, (2) classifying the signs based on objects of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics theory, such as icon, index, and symbol, ( 3) displaying data in the form of screenshots based on the signs found and the classification of the type of object (icon, index, or symbol), (4) concluding. This study shows that the appearance of the jempol as an icon emphasizes similarity, the jempol as an index has a story context, and there is&nbsp;</em><em>an element of cause and effect. The study seeks to explore the different types of speech acts used by Thomas Shelby and their corresponding meanings. A descriptive qualitative method is employed for this research. Data collection involves the following steps: (1) Carefully and repeatedly watching Peaky Blinders Season 1 on Netflix, (2) Reading the script of Peaky Blinders Series Season 1, (3) Identifying and extracting data from the series' movie scenes and script, (4) Analysing the collected data. The data analysis process includes displaying, defining, classifying, discussing, and drawing conclusions based on the findings. The analysis of Thomas Shelby's speech acts in Peaky Blinders Series Season 1 reveals intriguing patterns in his communication style. Primarily employing assertive speech acts, Thomas displays confidence and strategic leadership in managing the family's illicit activities. Additionally, commissive speech acts demonstrate his sense of responsibility and loyalty through promises and commitments. Expressive speech acts provide insight into his emotions, wit, and humour, contributing to his multifaceted personality. Explicit declarations, however, appear to be absent, which could be attributed to the specific dialogues examined. This analysis sheds light on Thomas Shelby's communication style and its influence on the dynamics within his family and criminal endeavours. To introduce literary works, interesting learning media are needed. Thus, learning innovation needs to be practiced. One of the innovations in teaching literary works can be practiced with the use of ICT, for example, learning video. Character analysis videos of ‘The Paper Menagerie’ by Ken Liu can be used as a literary learning medium. This descriptive qualitative study uses the theory of literary learning media by Kem and Dayton to analyze the use of short story analysis video as a media in teaching and also to analyze the main function of that media. Then the theory of character by Egri Lajos will be applied to analyze the three dimensions of character that has been explained in the video. The research shows that the video analyzing the Short Story “The Paper Menagerie” By Ken Liu fulfills the three main functions of literary learning media. They are first, the discursive methods of motivation of interest or action, second, the media present information, and third the media giving incursion.
