Publication Ethics
Journal PSIKOWIPA is an official scientific publication that publishes research results, including research findings, development, literature reviews, and thoughts in the field of psychology that have never been published before. This scientific code of ethics statement is a declaration by all parties involved in the publication process of the PSIKOWIPA journal, including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The scientific publication code of ethics statement is based on the LIPI Head Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. The ethics of scientific publications uphold three ethical values in publications, namely:
- Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
- Justice, which provides authorship rights to those who deserve to be authors;
- Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.
Duties and Responsibilities of PSIKOWIPA Journal Managers
- Determine the journal's name, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation application if necessary.
- Establish the membership of the editorial board.
- Define the relationships between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
- Respect confidentiality matters, whether for contributors, authors, editors, or peer reviewers.
- Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
- Review journal policies and convey them to authors, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and readers.
- Create guidelines for rules and ethical behavior for editors and peer reviewers.
- Publish the journal regularly.
- Ensure the availability of funding sources for the journal's continued publication.
- Build networks of cooperation with research institutions and related agencies.
- Prepare permits and other legal aspects.
Duties and Responsibilities of PSIKOWIPA Journal Editors
- Meet the needs of readers and authors, striving for continuous improvement in publication quality.
- Implement processes to ensure the quality of published works.
- Promote freedom of opinion objectively.
- Maintain the integrity of the academic record of authors.
- Provide corrections, clarifications, and apologies if necessary.
- Be responsible for the style and format of the scientific writing, while the content and all statements in the writing are the author's responsibility.
- Actively seek opinions from authors, readers, peer reviewers, and members of the editorial board to improve publication quality.
- Conduct regular internal evaluations of the quality of the scientific journal.
- Support authors' initiatives regarding publication ethics by including clearance forms in every manuscript submission.
- Be open to new opinions or views that may contradict personal opinions for the advancement of science.
- Avoid making decisions that are subjective by not sticking to personal opinions, the authors' or third parties' opinions, seeking scientifically accountable solutions.
- Encourage authors to make improvements to their work until it is worthy of publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of PSIKOWIPA Journal Peer Reviewers
- Review manuscripts and provide the review results to the editor as a basis for determining the eligibility of a manuscript for publication.
- Reviewers do not conduct scientific reviews of manuscripts involving themselves, directly or indirectly.
- Provide suggestions, inputs, and positive recommendations on scientific manuscripts.
- Maintain the privacy of authors by not disseminating corrections, suggestions, and recommendations on a manuscript.
- Encourage authors to make improvements to their manuscripts.
- Review revised manuscripts according to the set standards.
- Review manuscripts promptly in accordance with the style of the publication based on the established scientific rules (data collection methods, author legitimacy, conclusions, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities of PSIKOWIPA Journal Authors
- Ensure that those included in the author list meet the criteria for authorship.
- Be collectively responsible for the work and content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
- Declare the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
- Explain the limitations in the research.
- Respond to comments made by peer reviewers and the editorial board in a professional, scientific, and timely manner.
- Inform the editor in writing if they wish to withdraw their manuscript.
- Make a statement that the submitted manuscript is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not currently under consideration by any other publisher.
