Karakteristik Emisi Bahan Bakar Dengan Aditif Metanol-Butanol Sebagai Sumber Bahan Bakar Alternatif Dan Berkelanjutan
Abstract
Krisis energi skala dunia saat ini karena menipisnya cadangan bahan bakar fosil. Selain itu, peningkatan pesat dalam penggunaan bahan bakar fosil mendukung penipisan bahan bakar. Selain itu, meningkatnya harga bahan bakar fosil, emisi gas rumah kaca, serta keamanan dan keragaman energi mendorong untuk mengalihkan untuk mencari sumber bahan bakar alternatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan memvariasikan aditif bahan bakar metanol-butanol (5:4, 5:8, dan 5:12)v/v dengan RON-90. Mesin yang digunakan dengan jenis automatis transmisi kapasitas 109,5 cc. sedangkan alat uji untuk deteksi emisi menggunakan Gas Analyzer 4 Gas Gasoline EPSG4. Variasi MB3 mengalami penurunan sebesar 6% dibandingkan dengan bahan bakar komersial. Penurunan CO sebesar 7% terjadi pada putaran mesin 6000 rpm dengan nilai 1,17%. HC mengalami penurunan 8 % terjadi pada putaran mesin 9000 rpm dengan nilai 276ppm. Penurunan NOx sebesar 8 % terjadi pada putaran mesin 9000 rpm dengan nilai 421ppm. Selanjutnya untuk CO2 mengalami peningkatan terjadi pada putaran mesin 9000 rpm dengan nilai 11,63%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penambahan aditif methanol dan butanol sangat efektif menurunkan emisi mesin SI.
