Abstract

Kanigaran District, Probolinggo City experiences significant challenges in managing ASN human resources, especially related to the limited number of employees and existing facilities. With only 33 employees serving more than 62,000 residents, the quality of public services is affected. This problem prompted this study to explore the influence of leadership style and work culture on employee performance, with motivation as a mediating variable. The purpose of this study is to fill the existing research gap and provide new insights into how leadership style and work culture affect employee performance in Kanigaran District. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, where data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using SmartPLS software to test the relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate that leadership style and work culture have a significant influence on employee motivation, which in turn has a positive effect on employee performance. This study is expected to contribute to the development of managerial policies and performance improvement strategies at the sub-district level.
