Abstract

This study focuses on important factors that influence teacher performance in the context of vocational education, especially at SMKN 1 Sampang. The main objective of this study is to explore the relationship between teacher competence, rewards, motivation, and performance. Using a quantitative research approach, this study uses descriptive and inferential statistical analysis to reveal meaningful patterns and insights. The population for this study included a total of 81 teachers at SMKN 1 Sampang. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria of only ASN teachers totaling 72 people, but in the end only 40 ASN teachers were willing to participate. The findings revealed that competence and rewards have a positive effect on teacher motivation at SMKN 1 Sampang but are not significant, only competence contributes significantly positively to performance. Rewards actually have a negative impact on performance, and the effect of competence on performance through motivation is not significant. Motivation itself contributes significantly positively to performance, but as a mediator, motivation increases the influence of competence and rewards on performance although not significant.
