Abstract

Job transfers and compensation are two essential aspects of human resource management believed to influence employee satisfaction and work productivity. This study aims to describe and analyze the effect of job transfers and compensation on work productivity, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The population of this study consisted of all employees at PT Pegadaian Bojonegoro Branch involved directly in public services, totaling 53 individuals. A sample of 41 employees was selected using purposive sampling, based on the criteria of having experienced a job transfer, being involved in customer service, and being willing to participate in the study. The research findings indicate that: (1) job rotation does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction; (2) compensation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction; (3) job rotation does not significantly affect work productivity; (4) compensation significantly affects work productivity, although its influence is weaker compared to its effect on job satisfaction; (5) job satisfaction has a very significant effect on work productivity; (6) there is no indirect effect of job rotation on productivity through job satisfaction; and (7) there is a significant indirect effect of compensation on productivity through job satisfaction.
